This was a really fun piece, trying to catch the experience of an evening fishing on the Kenai, although the sun really never sets there is this golden hour fishing in the evening as the sun lowers on the horizon, the fish are thick in the water and there is a cool dampness to the air, being surrounded by some of the most majestic views in the country! You feel connected to the land, the water and the ancient cycle of life and death. The determination of this beautiful fish to fight for its life purpose is an inspiration. Danie finished the third painting in her “Divine Feminine” series. Danu, also known as Anu, or Dana, Honored throughout eastern Europe to Ireland. She is a mother goddess associated with fertility, abundance, magic and wisdom. often invoked in rituals for abundance, prosperity, and guidance in decision-making. The earth-mother goddess is often depicted as the maiden mother crone or triple moon goddess as well as symbols including wind, animals, trees, and water as she is referred to as the flowing one. There are many varying stories/legends about her if you ever wanted to read about her but Danie really connected with her story and is excited to have finally finished the third in this series of six mother Goddesses.
